I denna uppsats analyseras Nancy Horans debutroman Kärleken till Frank med narratologiska begrepp. Analysen utgår från Gérard Genettes narratologiska system och är indelad i tre huvudområden; tempus, modus och röst. Syftet med uppsatsen är att, genom en strukturalistisk analys, öka förståelsen för romanen, dess berättarteknik och stil. Frågeställningar som behandlas är bland annat; Hur behandlar tid i berättelsen? Hur ser fokalisationen ut i romanen? Deltar berättaren som en karaktär i romanen, eller är den dold? Uppsatsen inriktar sig alltså på studiet av berättarkonsten, narrationen i Kärleken till Frank. .

Utgångspunkten i arbetet är att människor som saknar rättigheter behandlas orättvist. Nancy Frasers rättviseteori stärker det påståendet. Hennes tolkning av rättvisa innebär att individer skall ha möjlighet att deltaga som jämlikar i alla strukturer som påverkar individen. Om individen saknar rättigheter saknar hon möjlighet att deltaga som jämlik. Frågeställningen som undersöks är hur Hannah Arendts ansvarbegrepp kan minska orättvisan som individen lider av i och med sin avsaknad av rättigheter.

The high feeding value of red clover makes it into an important species in Swedish agriculture. There are three different maturity types grown in Sweden, early, medium late and late. The time for heading, regrowth and winter hardiness is affected by the maturity type, but there can also be other factors that are affected by the maturity type, for instance fiber content. In a greenhouse experiment three red clover varieties of different maturity types were compared; early Titus, middle late SW Nancy and late SW Torun. The features compared were fiber content and differences in development rates.

Arbetsmetod. Från början var vår avsikt att försöka fånga hur tidningarna skrev om respektive mord med avseende på dramaturgi och stereotypifiering. Vi tänkte oss en till största del kvalitativ-analys där vi skrev ned ton/känsla i texterna och sedan gjorde en helhetsanalys av våra anteckningar..

Den här uppsatsen handlar om företeelsen mobbning sedd ur olika perspektiv. Mobbning är dock ett stort område, och en problematisk term att förklara. En anledning till det är det kan ta sig uttryck på så många olika sätt. Därför kan man säga att uppsatsen består av två delar. I den första delen skriver jag om vad några olika forskare definierar som mobbning, samt vilka förklaringsmodeller man kan ta till hjälp för att förstå varför mobbning kan uppstå.

In this essay, I make a queer feminist analysis of Mats Strandberg?s and Sara Bergmark Elfgren?s teenage novel ?Cirkeln?, which is about six teenage girls who learn that they are witches with a mission to save the world from demons. Using Judith Butler's theories, I examine the norms of sex/gender, ethnicity, class and sexuality found in the text and how these standards are created. I also analyze whether, and if so how, these standards may change when the magical elements enter the text.I also discuss the fact that older Gothic novels with magical elements often have been regarded as queer through history. .

Denna studie bygger på en kritisk hermeneutisk kvalitativ innehållsanalys med en deduktiv ansats. Genom att applicera Nancy Frasers rättviseteori som behandlar frågan om hur rättvisa ska kunna uppnås i en globaliserad värld har EU:s rörlighetsdirektiv, likabehandlingsprincip, svensk lag samt rapporter om EU-medborgares situation i Sverige analyserats för att undersöka EU-medborgares möjlighet till jämlikt deltagande i en svensk kontext. Resultatet visar att det görs en distinktion mellan aktiva och icke-aktiva EU-medborgare och för att räknas som rättvisesubjekt för att omfattas av de rättigheter som manifesteras i rörlighetsdirektivet och svensk lag krävs en ekonomiskt resursstark EU- medborgare. Vidare visar resultatet hur icke-aktiva EU-medborgare ofta hamnar utanför det svenska samhället och deras vistelse här är villkorad på det sätt att de exempelvis krävs inneha tillräckliga egna ekonomiska resurser eller rimlig chans till arbete för att omfattas av det svenska välfärdssystemet. Detta gör att icke-aktiva EU-medborgare ofta hamnar i en situation där de utestängs från viktiga sociala arenor i samhället till följd av att de saknar arbete, bostad och ekonomiska resurser samt möjligheten att hävda sina rättigheter och få dessa tillgodosedda.

The essay has as its aims to understand and analyze both the details and the wholeness of the artwork and to try to put the collage in an art historical context. The thesis finds that Existentiell Progg #6 has a connection to the imagery of Africa and other collage artist such as Hannah Höch and Nancy Spero, which also gives the paper a perspective of feminism in the arts. The paper continues to create an understanding for the collage work by putting it in to Theodor Adorno?s theories about nature, the human being and the animal kingdom.

Lifestyle magazines portray women in different manners and have an influence on how media consumers create self-images. The importance of knowing how different visual representation of the female acts out in magazines with large target audiences is therefore of weight for the magazines? readers to understand. This thesis analyze how the two lifestyle magazines ELLE and LOVE portrays women in images and how they in turn create ideal images of women.The thesis has been conducted through a qualitative analysis of 5 images from each magazine that represents the magazines artistic styles. The theories used in this study are semiotic image analysis and visual text analysis viewed from a gender- and discourse perspective.The conclusion of this thesis is that ELLE portrays women as strong, happy and feminine, with at tendency towards androgyny, while LOVE describes women as inferior and sexual objects constructed for the male gaze.

This study is an attempt to develop the discussion about self-injury with the aid of philosophical discussions about understanding. I will present a reading of the discussion between Michel Foucault and Jacques Derrida about reason and madness, and also an interpretation of the Derrida and Hans-Georg Gadamer encounter. These readings focus on the concept of understanding, on the possibility to understand the other and on the possibility to reach out from reason toward the irrational. The project to formulate an ethical approach to self-injury by Nancy Nyquist Potter is then used to bring the question about understanding to life. I conclude that the project of Potter, formulated as ?uptake?, is weakened by the fact that she fails to recognize the underlying philosophical problems in stating the possibility to understand the meaning of something that until today has been considered meaningless..

AbstractDet har i ett antal internationella undersökningar framkommit att HBT- personer har sämre hälsa än heterosexuella. I den förbindelsen har syftet med denna uppsats varit att diskutera kring vilka åtgärder som är möjliga för att förändra denna ohälsa, där jag har koncentrerat mig på särlösning kontra integrationsteorier. Jag har inriktat mig på lesbiska och bisexuella kvinnor inom HBT- området. Med hjälp av Nancy Fraser och Iris Marion Youngs teorier om erkännande eller omfördelning diskuteras särlösningen och integreringens fördelar och nackdelar. Problemet är att det vid särlösningar finns en risk för att lesbiska och bisexuella kvinnor fasthålls i sin marginalisering och att det inte arbetas med roten till problemet.

Abstract:The aim of this study is to critically analyse the discourse of linkworkers, a integration project in a ?multicultural? school in Malmö. In the project, four persons with different ethnic / cultural background where employed to work as a link between the school and the parents, and between the Swedish culture and the children's and the parent's ?original? culture. My material consists of evaluations of the project and interviews with school staff.

Engelfors Trilogy is a three-part fantasy novel consisting of Circle, Fire and The key, written by Mats Strandberg and Sara Bergmark Elfgrens. Circle was nominated for the August Prize award 2011, which is a literary prize awarded each year. The book has also been translated into 25 different languages. Fire came out in August 2013 and is the part of the novel that I will concentrate on in these theses. What I will do in this paper is a queer feminist analysis of the novel's main characters in the book Fire.

This essay is about the modern Swedish Nazi movement in relation to the German Nazi movement before and during the Second World War. The analysis is made using the Nazi Myth theory as described by French philosophers Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe & Jean-Luc Nancy. Theory and method are aimed at analysing the Nazi movement as a religious one. In this essay I have identified five main Nazi Myth elements required to realize Nazi ideals and embraced by original German Nazis. Through text analysis I have studied how Swedish Nazis use and reproduce these elements.The result will show that the main elements are well represented in modern Swedish Nazi texts and must be considered as central and bearing in modern Swedish Nazism. However, modern Swedish Nazism is also different from original German Nazism in some ways, for example in view of race, land and art..
